Lisa enjoys a close working relationship with her clients. As a litigator for most of her career, she is passionate about providing quality, cost effective legal services, with a strong focus on risk management.
Lisa has served on the American Arbitration Association Commercial Arbitration Panel for more than twenty years. Lisa enjoys the opportunity to use her skills as a mediator, arbitrator and facilitator to assist parties in resolving their disputes and avoid the agony and expense of litigation. Lisa’s experience enables her to successfully facilitate internal employment disputes before these internal conflicts escalate into litigation.
Lisa has been conducting trainings on Investigations in the Workplace for over a decade, both locally and regionally. She also investigates internal employment complaints relating to harassment, discrimination, retaliation and other employment matters.
Lisa’s practice includes advising employers and employees on employment matters as well as advising health care professionals on business practices and confidentiality issues; advising lawyers in professional negligence claims; reviewing and drafting employment contracts; and drafting independent contractor agreements.
Lisa has the highest rating (AV) from Martindale-Hubbell for her legal abilities and professional ethics.

Arbitration
Lisa Brown arbitrates cases through the American Arbitration Association, the Arbitration Service of Portland, Washington Balanced Billing Arbitration Panel, Virginia Balanced Billing Arbitration Panel, court mandated arbitration programs, and the Oregon State Bar Fee Dispute Resolution program.
Having litigated commercial and employment cases for many years, Lisa enjoys the opportunity to assist parties in resolving disputes through arbitration and mediation as a cost effective alternative to litigation.
Lisa is a frequent speaker on alternative dispute resolution, recognizing the importance of educating litigators, in-house lawyers, business owners and transactional attorneys on the value of arbitration.
Mediation
Lisa enjoys mediating cases involving employment issues, commercial litigation, contract claims, negligence and personal injury cases, fee disputes, and professional liability.


Facilitations
Lisa enjoys working with employers to facilitate resolutions to internal employment disputes before they escalate into litigation. Relying on her extensive experience litigating ADA claims, Lisa uses her knowledge to facilitate the ADA interactive process between employers and employees as well as discussions between students, parents and teachers who are involved in creating and implementing an IEP or 504 plan.
Lisa also offers facilitation and mediation services for families, residents, and long term care facilities, assisting them in developing care plans and resolving issues that may arise in implementing the care plan.
Trainings
Lisa has been conducting trainings on Investigations in the Workplace for over a decade, both locally and regionally. She also continues to train managers and employees on employment issues, using examples from her many years as a litigator to serve as learning opportunities. Lisa’s trainings are very interactive, as she believes that engaging the participants in the learning process allows them to better remember and apply the tools and skills they have learned when they return to the workplace.
